Senior Professor and Coordinator of the Insper Agro Global Center since 2019. He holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ-USP), a Master’s degree in Agricultural Policy from Montpellier, France, a PhD in Business Administration from the School of Economics, Business and Accounting at the University of São Paulo (FEA-USP), and a Livre-Docência (post-doctoral habilitation) from ESALQ-USP.
He lived abroad for ten years, studying and working on global agribusiness topics in the United States, Europe, and Asia. For 18 years, he served as an Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo at FEA, IRI, and ESALQ. He founded the Institute for International Trade and Negotiations (ICONE).
He served as President of the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA) from 2007 to 2012, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Business Development for BRF in the Asia-Pacific region based in Singapore, and Specialist in the Integration, Trade, and Hemispheric Affairs Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, D.C.
Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of COLOMBO Agroindústria, Chairman of the Sustainability and Innovation Advisory Board of MINERVA Foods, and an advisor to Just Climate. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI), the Brazil-China Business Council (CEBC), and the Agribusiness Superior Council of FIESP (COSAG).
Previously, he served on the boards of RUMO Logística, COMERC Energia, and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).
